Bobby W. Click

Bobby Click graduated from Wylie High School in 1947.  He played six man football his freshman and sophomore years.  Bobby recalled that "I was happy to do it.  There wasn't any football or any other sports team back in 1942 (his 8th grade year) which was a real shame since there were some good football players in the senior class that year."  Bobby played eleven man football his junior and senior years and made all-district both years.

Bobby remembers that "Very little money was available for sports during those four years.  All I can remember being purchased for football was a game ball and a few rolls of tape.  We furnished our own shoes, socks, work-out jerseys, etc.  After each game, we took our uniforms home to be washed and brought them back to school the following Monday.  Taking a shower was almost impossible as there was usually raw sewage backed up in the shower and there was no hot water."

Bobby graduated from East Texas State College in 1951.  He enlisted in the Navy shortly afterward and eventually retired from the Navy Reserve with the rank of Captain.  Bobby also retired from Ministers Life insurance Company as a regional sales manager.

Bobby resides in Dallas.  He has two grown children.  His wife of 48 years passed away in 1999.
