Brenna O'Dell Patton

Brenna O’Dell Patton is a 1992 graduate of Wylie High School. At Wylie High School Brenna participated in three different sports and has a list of credentials to provide it. From cross country to basketball to track & field, she transitioned smoothly through all 3. Competed at the State Level for all 4 years in cross country, earned all-district and all-region selection for basketball and delivered state performances all 4 years in 400m and 800m with capturing the state title her Junior year in the 400m. Outside of Wylie Athletics, she was a member of the Elite Track Club where she earned finishing spots in the 400m, 800m and 4x400-meter relay at the TAC National Junior Olympics in the summers of 1991 & 1992.
She attended University of Texas at Arlington on a full Track & Field scholarship. At UTA, Brenna helped to lead the team to two Women’s SLC Track & Field Indoor Championships along with 2 second place finishes and one Women’s SLC Track & Field Outdoor Championship with three other second place finishes during her career. She currently holds records in the UTA Women’s Indoor All-Time Top-Five Best Marks with the second fastest time in the 600m with a 1:26, the Top 4X800-meter Relay time, and 3rd fastest 4X400-meter relay with a 3:48 time. Along with Indoor marks, she also holds the record in the Outdoor All-time Top-five for the 4X800-meter relay with 8:51. At UTA, she set personal bests of 54.7 in 400m and 2:10 in 800m. In 2005, she was named to UTA’s Hall of Honor as a member of the 1995 Women’s Track Team.
Over the years, her performance off the track has produced the same successful results as it did on the track. From achievements at Wylie High School as Junior and Senior Class President, Most Outstanding Athlete, Most Talented Senior to being named “Medicine Women” during her field Anthropology Class senior year at UTA, she has excelled in every area of her life. She would say it’s the heart of an athlete type spirit that has made this possible and having great mentors and coaches along the way.
Brenna is the Director of Sales Promotion for an international company in Arlington. She travels the world delivering motivational messages to others. Her passion includes serving in a leadership role at her Church and being an encouraging wife to her husband and step-daughter.
