Chubby Anderson

Doyle "Chubby" Anderson attended Wylie High School for all 12 years and graduated in 1953.

Chubby was all district 4 years in football, Freshman and Sophomore as a left tackle and Junior and Senior as fullback.

Lettered in basketball 3 years as a guard.

Lettered 4 years in baseball, and was all district 1st baseman his Senior year.

Jerrell Clemmons remembers Chubby this way,
"He was the best athlete in our class of 1953. He was our leader on and off the field. He told us what parties we were going to and what we were to wear to all of our class functions. All of the guys in our class looked up to him and never gave him any lip. I never saw him have a fight, but there was no doubt in my mind that he could whip us all. "

Chubby graduated from East Texas State College in 1957 with a B. S. in Educational Technology.  He was elected Mr. East Texas his senior year.

After graduation, Chubby was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957 and honorably discharged in 1959.

He worked as a supervisor for Kraft and Standard Foods.

Chubby earned his private pilot's license in 1975.

He retired to his own dairy farm in Yantis, Texas until 1988.

He was selected to be Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge #382, Yantis, Texas 1985-86.

Chubby had two daughters:  Robyn Stankiewicz and Carmen Croley; four granchildren and one great grandchild.
