Russell Clemmons

William Russell Clemmons was born in Kaufman, Texas on July 30th, 1937.

He moved to Wylie while still an infant and graduated T.F. Birmingham High School in Wylie in 1957.

Russell was all district in football for two years as an end. A two time all district center in basketball and three time all district pitcher in baseball.

He was voted best athlete of his class and was Mr. WHS.

Russell has a son Blake, class of 1978 who played basketball and participated in track and field for the Pirates.  David Craig, another son, died at an early age.

Russell served in the US Army and played major industrial basketball and fast pitch softball for many years.

He and his wife, Leona live in Wylie.
